What Do You Proclaim?

"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;" Isaiah 61:1

Some of this may be figurative for the freedom that your faith brings people spiritually. Perhaps, it's quite literal for your life. In either case, what is it that you proclaim? Do you proclaim liberty to those captive (or captivated) by sin? Perhaps you proclaim nothing at all by your inaction and complacency.

Looking at the first part of this verse..."the Spirit of the Lord God is upon me..." Have you ever experienced the presence of God in such a way that you could feel either in body or spirit that His Spirit was with you? I like to call this a "God Hug". Why do you suppose God allows us to feel His presence? Could it be in part that He wants us to share this experience with others so that they will pursue Him and find him just as we have?

Who in your daily life is brokenhearted or stuck in a place of emotional, spiritual, financial (or other type of) bondage? How can you reach into their life and proclaim God's love? How can your story give them life and hope in the God who never fails and is always present?
