"So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." James 4:7

My son woke up sick at 2:30 AM and continued to be sick for the next 12 hours. I had prayed over him, used various oils for nausea, gave him ginger tea, bone broth, rest and played audio healing scriptures all day long. It was everything I could do for him. I was talking with my friend about it and she shared with me her take on the scripture "He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.", 1 Peter 2:24. The bottom line was Jesus stripes are enough. We do not have to accept illness. So the next time my son ran to the bathroom I had him pray for himself, repeating after me that Jesus stripes were enough, he doesn't accept any illness and he commanded his own body to heal in Jesus name. He never threw up again and woke up completely restored the next morning. I'm guilty of running to my friends and asking for prayer before boldly speaking out loud in private. Other believers can't do all the resisting for you. You have to stand up and claim it with your own mouth and believe it in your own mind to fully receive. And another thing, resisting is not ignoring the devil. Resisting involves pushing back, stronger than the enemy is pushing you. You have to open your mouth and let the sword of the Spirit come out swinging!
