I recently had the opportunity to receive a free book from Bethany House publishers, provided I gave it a review in two places. It was called "At Love's Bidding" by Regina Jennings. She actually went to OBU & lives here in OKC!
It's a wonderful, tasteful love story with a back story of a missing prized family portrait that was accidentally sold at auction. The main character, Miranda, is a well-to-do, well-bred lady who helps her grandfather auction off antiques & heirlooms. They end up searching the Missouri Osarks together. Enter Wyatt, a rough backwoodsman who deals in livestock...& ends up falling for Miranda. I especially appreciated the way Miranda's grandfather's Alzeimer's-like symptoms were handled with grace in a setting & time when it was not a recognized disease.
I recommend this book to those of you who appreciate writing without violence, profanity or sex. The author proves that you can have a superb story without any of those negative things!
